Emma Long-Ingram
President/Coordinator Lexington School District [email protected] Mrs. Emma Long-Ingram is currently in her 9th year as the K-12 Lexington District Art Educator and is excited to have served as the HOIC Art Festival's President since 2013. In addition to serving as president of the HOIC Art Festival, Emma contributes to local arts education through private studio classes at Infinite HeArt Studios, teaching through Heartland Community College's Youth Education Program, and facilitating professional development for other educators through the Regional Office of Education and through her role as Communications Coordinator for the Illinois Art Education Association. In 2020 she was named the IAEA Elementary Art Educator of the year and her program was honored with an IAEA Schools of Distinction Award. Emma is a proud graduate of the Illinois State University's Art Education Program and was honored as one of the Fine Art Department's 2018 Honored Alum alongside her fellow HOIC art educator and husband, Sam Ingram (DeeMack High School). They welcomed their first child last spring during the midst of a pandemic and navigating remote learning! Emma has a website for her art program. You can find it at: msemmalong.weebly.com Cathy Cordell Event Photographer El Paso Gridley School District [email protected] Cathy graduated ISU in the Fall of 2005. She was a substitute teacher in area schools for a short while, before a teaching position opened at Illini Central where she stayed for 7 years. This year Cathy became the EPGHS art teacher. She loves trying new art media, but her favorite materials are acrylic paint and clay. Tom Stone Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley School District [email protected] My name is Mr. Stone and I teach art at GCMS. I grew up near Springfield and graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in Art Education in 2013. My favorite mediums to work in are oil painting, ceramics, and photography. Any free time that I have is filled with volleyball, running, and working on remodeling my house. Beth Hoegger Awards Coordinator Heyworth School District [email protected] Beth Hoegger graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1987 with a Bachelors of Art in Education and a Three-dimensional Design Major and has been teaching High School Art at Heyworth for 34 years. She will be retiring this year! She lives in Heyworth with her husband, and two children. She loves to create art in all mediums but enjoys ceramics drawing and oil painting the most. European traveling and vacationing are great inspirations for her to share in the classroom with the students. Integrating all disciplines into the curriculum has been exhilarating and has brought about a lot of collaborative learning in designing the art room and other community projects. Tim Kowalczyk Social Media Fieldcrest School District [email protected] Sam Ingram Art Show Coordinator Deer Creek-Mackinaw School District [email protected] Sam Ingram graduated from Illinois State University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Art Education as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts. He is currently in his 7th year of teaching at Dee-Mack High School. In addition to teaching visual art and digital art, he is also the head coach for Girls' & Boys' Cross Country and Boys' Track & Field at Dee-Mack High School. Jenni Sevik Ridgeview School District [email protected] Laura Kniss Flanagan Cornell School District lkniss@fc74 My name is Ms. Kniss and I am currently in my third year of teaching K-12 Art at Flanagan-Cornell. I grew up in a small farm town about an hour southwest of Rockford IL. I received my bachelor's in art education in 2017 through Illinois State University in 2017. During my program I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Sydney, Australia. My travels have impacted my artwork and my curriculum. My favorite media to work with are paint, graphite, and pen and ink. When I am not at school, I like to spend my time with my fiance. We love to hike with our dog and travel! Nichole Gronvold Roller Tremont School District [email protected] Nichole Gronvold Roller is an art educator and painter who received a B.F.A. in Art Education from Minnesota State University of Moorhead, an M.A. in Art Education from Boston University, and an M.A. in Painting from Bradley University. Nichole is a full-time high school art teacher in Tremont, IL where she has been teaching for the past twenty-two years. Nichole lives in Tremont with her husband and three children. She graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University with a BFA and MA in art education. While at Eastern she was president of the EIU IAEA student chapter and presented at both the IAEA conference in Lisle, IL and the NAEA conference in Fort Worth, TX. Rachel absolutely loves being a Tri-Valley Viking. She currently lives in Bloomington with her husband, young son, and puggle. Her favorite art media include charcoal, fiber, and glass. Meredith Little Le Roy School District [email protected] Meredith Little is originally from Buffalo Grove, a Northwest Suburb of Chicago. She is the Jr. and Sr. High School Art Teacher at Le Roy CUSD #2 where she currently resides with her husband and 3 year old daughter. Her husband is also a teacher and coach in the district. Meredith graduated from ISU in the Fall of 2006 and taught at Clinton School District for 5 years before moving to Le Roy where she is currently in her 8th year of teaching. In addition to teaching, she is the High School Yearbook Sponsor and a member of the Innovations team. Outside of school, Meredith is a photographer and enjoys working in ceramics.
